Your life is not a rehearsal. Don't leave it without giving it your all.

| Every once in a while you can crash and burn |
The weather today was unseasonably warm for February in Chicago. It was a beautiful day to run. I couldn't wait to lace up my shoes and head out the door. I had a 16 mile EZ run on my schedule. I met up with some of the ERC runners and we headed together out east. I focussed on keeping my pace and running tall. 16 miles was a long way and I was determined to run my pace the whole way. Before I knew it, I was at my turnaround and heading back home. Shortly after my 12 mile mark, my legs started to feel weak. I wasn't sure what was going on, but I wasn't feeling normal. Finished my water and one of my gatorades in hopes that it would propel me back into a smooth motion. No such luck. I was dragging and hurting. Decided to do my best to keep running towards home. Finally made it back to my house and not a moment too soon. Couldn't hold it in any longer. Spent the next 10 minutes getting sick and throwing up. It was not pretty. I have no idea what happened. I just know that I quickly changed, showered, crawled up the stairs to my bed and settled in under the covers. I crashed and burned today. Not sure why, but I am still hurting. Couldn't even get my contacts in. Luckily tomorrow is a day off. Maybe my body is saying something to me. I am thankful that I made it back to my house to get sick and wasn't bent over on someone's driveway losing my pre-run food. I would be mad about how this ended except, I don't even have the energy for it. I think I'll just stay in my pajamas and relax. Tomorrow is another day and I will take advantage of the rest.
