Okay, I can't deny it. The soft sheets on my bed and the sound of rain on my window was the perfect combination and excuse to stay in bed. Lucky for me, it also fell on my day off. I'm still not use to these days off especially when my legs are feeling so good. I have started wearing compression socks the day before a long run and the day after and they are a tremendous help and my legs have not ached at all. I bought mine at the Runners Soul in Elmhurst and they have proven to be some of the best money spent. I do not plan on wearing them at Boston but I will be wearing them the day before the race and the day after. Despite the fact that I have to wrestle with them to get them on, they make my legs feel energized and ready to run the next day.
Ok, so when I don't run, swim or bike, what do I do? Theres always laundry and some house cleaning, video and photo work and also a little bit of time for a nap. Yep, the last option proved to be the one I enjoyed the most today. I also took Beans for a 2 mile walk, which she loved, listened to some trashy movie on LMN (didn't cry) and worked on a video. The day was pretty relaxing and low key. That was a good thing, because I still have some high mileage runs coming up and I will need lots of focus and discipline if I plan to get anything out of my workouts.
