March 17 ** Its a nice day for a white wedding** Boston 2012

Today was a scheduled day off.  I was attending an afternoon wedding and knew that I wouldn't be able to do a long run in the morning and then stay awake for the festivities.  Besides, there was so much to do before we had to leave for the event, that I barely had time eat, get my son and husband dressed and be out the door on time. As it was, we ended up leaving the house a bit later than we were expected to leave.   At least John didn't forget the ring.  He was the best man, and with the wedding in Aurora, I didn't want to have to come back for one of the most important things in a wedding.
Normal Sat attire
Dry Wick

So, usually on a Saturday morning I don't have any problem deciding what to wear.  I mean really, how hard is it to choose a dry wick shirt and a pair of running shorts.  Today though was different.  I wanted to look sharp and sexy for my man. So, I put on a short black spaghetti strap dress and some high heels.  Some earrings, a little make-up and I was ready to go.

Wow!  Thats what my son said when he saw me all dressed up.  I will take that as a compliment from my 10 year old son. I guess I did look a bit different in these nice clothes.  Some would say I clean up pretty nice.  Well, we made it to the church on time and the wedding was beautiful.  The reception was at a restaurant in Downers Grove.  The food was good although I had a long run scheduled for early Sunday morning, so wedding chicken and oily salad was not going to be a good combo for a carbo load.  Oh well. I tried to drink as much water as possible and the bar did not have any gatorade to offer, so I was running out of options.  My only choice was to try and force down some pasta when I got home.  And, thats just what I did.  I have no idea how I ate more food so late at night and I am not really sure if it helped me, but for mental reasons, I needed to force the carbs.

I was able to get to bed by 10:30 which was good.  The alarm for tomorrow was going to be ringing early, so after my extra plate of pasta, I slipped out of my party clothes, hopped into bed and went to sleep.
